Watch an elder want to dig a big hole after asking him this.....
by happyexjw ini was watching the dc talk on the generation overlap (remain in the secret place most high) on you tube.
watched and listened to approx 3 mins on this video clip and already wanting to shout and scream.
but i also had this thought about the experiences they read out and how real they were or just another wts bs, for example in the bit i heard they gave an experience of a brother who is bipolar and his battle when in fds.

JW's: Did You Tattle-Tale To The Elders When You Heard Things?
by mentallyfree31 injust curious...how many of you went to the elders and reported to them things that you heard through gossip?
.
and how many of you knew things that could get people disfellowshipped, but decided not to tell the elders?.

Man, oh, man.
I want to first make the distinction between snitchin' and informing.
Snitchin' = I am in on the dirt, and decide to rat out associates for reduced sentence, out of bitterness, revenge motives, etc.
Informing is being outside the situation, but coming across it. Motives may be clouded, though.
Anyway, several times I informed the elders of a few rogue elders. At least twice, I had a few elders reprimanded. Boy, was I a hated little MS.
The only time I informed on a "regular" person was when I was called in about a friend. They accused me of knowing about his sin (smoking). Now, I never saw him with my own eyes. I only heard about it from a good source. They also talked about his underaged drinking. Now, I did know about that. But, I decided to only answer questions about the party they knew about, and at that one, I didn't see him imbibe anything. (The elders also lied about the cooperation of the party host, who later looked at me with a legit "WTF? I didn't talk to them about sh!t!" when I "thanked him for telling the truth about the situation. The elder that tried to say I should have told them when it was at rumor stage was reminded by me that if that were the case, how would he like it if I told the elders about the people who complained to me about his business practices (amateur used car crook). He turned red and STFU. Anyway, he calls me and confesses about the smoking, and they leave me alone.
Anyway, they publicly reprove the fool, and then, two days later, I am at a club listening to a reggae band, and this fool and his girlfriend are both smoking! I had to tell then, because I had just got on the elders case. Now I DID SEE IT WITH MY OWN EYES.

Interesting experience on SL...JeHOvah's Witness and I have an encounter
by mindmelda ini go to a women's discussion group on sl, second life, which is a virtual community where you do all sorts of things, including entertainment, discussion groups, media, and just socializing through the use of animated avatars which can be quite realistically human or whatever you want them to be, really, aliens, elves, dragons, vampires, etc.. anyway, a woman there brought to the discussion a situation where she had her real life husband wants to divorce her for a witness woman he had met..and get this...she had come to his door after the couple separated and offered him a bible study, and apparently instead, it turned into a romance and then, according to the woman, her husband and this woman are hitting the sheets.
(you're not supposed to call on the opposite sex alone, and do doubt this is one reason...too many lonely witness women who'd jump on the first piece of dude they meet!
lol).

I agree with the BASIC idea behind disfellowshipping.
BASIC = what everyone does = you don't agree with me, so I am limiting my association with you. Just what that entails depends on the individual, organization, etc. It could be sitting on the other side of the coffee shop, to disfellowshipping, to issuing a fatwa. Everyone deals with people that don't agree with them.
Do they (JWs) take it too far? Probably. The main problem I have is that the judicial process is so flawed, that you have people like a friend of mine who got bum deals.

Ray Franz changes Kingdom Ministry to Kingdom Service -reversed later??
by Witness 007 in"the light gets brighter and brighter"..or does it.???
in the 1970's ray franz arguement about the term "ministry" makes them change the "kingdom ministry" to kingdom service".......i find it funny that by 1981 after he was disfellowshiped they changed it back!....flip flop, flip flop.... i was also told the aid to bible understanding {raymond} and commentary on james {dunlap} go on the bottom of the witness bookshelf!
are these works still considered "food at the proper time" or has this spiritual food gone alittle "off.

Did You "Wait" On Jehovah or Did You "Run Ahead"?
by minimus inwere you ever counseled for "running ahead of jehovah's organization?".
did you have to be told that you needed to "wait on jehovah"?.
-
Octarine Prince
I usually waited, and ran a little.
When I realized that what I was waiting on was more BS from the leadership, coverups, lies, etc., I ran the OTHER way. -
